Why Gordana Loves What She Does!
Gordana’s life is built on strong values, family support and the needs of the North Shore business community.
Strong Values
Born in Bosnia, raised in Croatia, Gordana ultimately immigrated to Canada from Serbia. She is a hard worker who loves to give to the people who surround her. When asked: “Do you miss your home?” Her reply is simple and reflective of her personality. “My home is anywhere I am surrounded by supportive people”.
Family Support
Gordana’s foundation in life is her loving family. Married to Zeljko Stojsavljevic, a long-time North Shore contractor, they have two wonderful children. Their son Marko is a talented basketball player at Thomson River University and their daughter Maya is a high school student who has a love for classical ballet.
Community Needs
Gordana founded an accounting and tax firm in 2016, as she saw the need to support small businesses. Her initial firm rebranded to become a leader in the local tax sector for small businesses, local startups, and companies that do not need Notice To Reader (NTR). This includes North Vancouver holding companies, inactive companies and companies that will be closed. Gordana says, “We did this to implement strategies that will enhance our client’s business performance.”

Tushar Handa, Tax Accountant
G.Synergy Tax, CPA Inc.
Education
Tushar completed his CA (Chartered Accountancy) in India, which is equivalent to a CPA designation in Canada. Once he moved to Canada, he continued his accounting education by completing his T1 general tax course from H&R Block and then going on to complete a bookkeeping certificate in QuickBooks online. Today he continues to passionately pursue his CPA final exams.
Work Experience
Tushar’s work experience has been varied doing taxes, accounting and audits. Initially in India he specialized in doing audits and as such got the opportunity to work with three prestigious and reputable organizations: E&Y, Deloitte, and SML Isuzu Ltd. He worked as an internal auditor for all three companies performing control testing and substantive audit procedures using the IFRS/US GAAP methodology.
After moving to Canada, he immediately developed an inclination towards taxation and public practice. Despite having good industry experiences, he chose a different direction and went to work in public practice. He says, “He has never looked back!” Initially, he got a lot of exposure working with T1 Clients (salaried and self-employed), but lately his focus has shifted towards preparation of Corporate returns. Today, Tushar is well versed in the preparation and computation of GST, HST and PST, T4s, and Payroll.
What Tushar Love About Working On Tax Returns!
Tushar loves the systematic approach that needs to be followed when working on each and every tax return. Starting with the preparation of a checklist to the completion of the tax return, he enjoys the systemic analysis each one requires. Tushar leverages the hard work done by a company’s bookkeeper to create accurate tax returns using this proven system. He says, “Some tax returns are challenging because they involve in depth tax research. This keep me on my toes and helps me to upgrade my knowledge as I must keep on top of the latest changes in our country’s economy, taxes and laws.” Finally, it is the direct Client contact and communication which Tushar believes goes a long way in building strong, trusting Client relationships – which for him is the ultimate reward.

Sunny Kang, Senior Tax Accountant
G.Synergy Tax, CPA Inc.
Education
After successfully completing university accounting and management courses Sunny went on to pursue CPA preparatory courses. Today, he has gone further to complete his Professional Education Program and currently he is putting the polishing touches on his CPA designation.
Work Experience
From strokes on the golf course, to strokes on a page, Sunny enjoys the intellectual game of both golf and accounting. He worked as a Canadian golf professional in Canada for more than 15 years before entering his current career passion accounting.
Sunny started his accounting experience in a small public firm and since has learned a lot about comprehensive and detailed personal tax returns from a renowned CPA in BC. Since 2017, Sunny has enjoyed working at G. Synergy Tax, CPA Inc. as a senior tax accountant. He says, “He truly loves what he does each and every day.”
Why Sunny Loves Working On Tax Returns!
The requirements for tax returns change frequently. That is why it is not easy for tax- payers with little or no knowledge in tax preparation to file their own taxes. However, corporate and personal taxes must be filed each year – it is an annual requirement which Sunny enjoys doing. He can explain tax implications and provide tax consultation to small and medium sized corporations in Canada with ease. In short, Sunny can turn your tax return experience from “confusing one” into a literal “sunny day” – which has many G. Synergy Tax Clients leaving our offices smiling!
